One of the few remaining examples of an early Beaufort style architecture is The Davis Bold-Webb residence. The name combines the three families most associated with the structures survival and restoration. Located on the towns eastern side on what was once Blacks Point, it stands as a reminder of the islands farming heritage. The first documented family associated with the house are the Bolds, who immigrated to America from Hackney, England. John Bold was a factor with Bold & Rhodes, Merchants of Charleston.

In the late 18th century, the Bold family constructed a dwelling that looked out over the tidal basin. The structure was one room deep with a sleeping loft and had the appearance of a rural farmhouse. Over the years, successive owners added necessary room, and renovations.

The Bold Webb house is a raised two story, frame, verandahed planters home. The front measures thirty two feet and is fifteen feet deep. This dimension corresponds to the South Carolina Provincial Statute of 1717
requiring every person awarded a front lot in the town to build a house of fifteen feet in width and thirty feet in length within two years.

The foundation piers are tabby faced with stucco. The original heart pine Random boards floors and ceiling boards were discovered beneath two other coverings. Early paint fragments in the west room, still visible, revealed the
original blue living room color. The single board wainscot is original. The front door iron rim lock are local finds. Outside window shutters are reproductions made of native cypress.

The kitchen and dining lean-to was an early addition. An original six over nine window remains. The wainscot on the dining rooms north wall is a single board. The second floor was unfinished and originally Used as the childrens sleeping quarters. Baths and utilities were placed in the new construction above the kitchen to preserve the original integrity of The house. Fireplaces in the living room, den, and bedroom add to the Warmth of this very comfortable house.

On the grounds of the property include a bricked patio and pergola for entertaining.

In 2001 the owner erected a replica of a historic planters
house in Warrington, GA to serve as a library and guesthouse. Located on the southern edge of the property, the new cottage is a faithful reproduction of the Federal style dwelling. Heart pine lumber from a period Barnwell County farm house was salvaged to reproduce the interior, and the contrasting wood is cypress. Built in bookshelves and fireplace complete this wonderful addition.
